Why are background screenings needed?

*PLEASE NOTE: Members seeking to enjoy any private club events and/or services beyond the public 12 days of FUN which includes Club travel, celebrity events (including award shows, celebrity meet and greets, major label listening/listening parties, private celebrity concerts, celebrity parties), member only local galas, balls, casino nights), and the like must pass a successful background screening.
Such events found in our rewards calendar and or catalog will be marked with "verified-members" only or verified-only symbol
Any non-verified member will receive a message as to getting their membership verified and an invoice if they would like to go through the 7 day membership verification process.

These checks are performed not only for club/criminal security issues but to insure member profiles on bethererewards.com contain 100% truthful information. For instance:
- One individual petitioning for membership verification stated on his profile he had a PhD from another country. This was not verified by the university in question.
- Another case, one individual petitioning for membership verification stated on her profile she was single and unattached but records showed she was married. Backgrounds are important.
Some of the things checked in background screenings are:
1. Criminal Records Search: Felonies, assualt charges, misdemeanors, and other sex and violent offenses
2. Information Verification of Online Profile: Verifies the petitioning individual current lifestyle as protrayed in the profile to be honest and correct, in so far as what's verifiable from legal records.
